Among all relative pronouns, WHAT is a different one. WHAT can only be  used in noun clause if it is used as a relative pronoun, not in adjectival relative clause. In adjectival cases, THAT or WHICH is preferred. Though it is the rule of Grammar, in spoken forms WHAT is widely used as a relative pronoun on adj relative clauses.
