STATEMENT PROMOTION - SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE - V. MAHENDIRAN

I have said many times in my previous posts that a learner must know the rules of voices, tenses and statements.

It means, a sentence that may be framed in simple present tense/active voice /affirmative to be promoted in negative, regular interrogative against all compartments, specific interrogative (both positive and negative) and tag interrogative (both positive and negative) ON BOTH VOICES.

This type of task is called STATEMENT PROMOTION ON BOTH VOICES. I titled myself, the same is trained to my students.

This task should be done for all tenses. The sentence should be a transitive one, because only then one can do on both active and passive voices.

First, students should be asked to write. Then to read the same extensively. Later, to speak the same without referring the notebook. However, students must not be tortured by giving any tough sentence in beginning.

Should start from the simple present tense giving an easy structure, like, I WRITE A LETTER TO MY FRIEND. This is an affirmative,, active voice is well known, isn't it?

Let's go for promotion in all applicable statements on both voices as said above.

Affirmative, Active and Passive.

I WRITE A LETTER TO MY FRIEND.

A LETTER IS WRITTEN BY ME TO MY FRIEND.

Negative, Active and Passive.

I DON'T WRITE A LETTER TO MY FRIEND.

A LETTER ISN'T WRITTEN BY ME TO MY FRIEND.

Regular interrogative against subject, Active and Passive.

WHO DOES WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FRIEND?

BY WHOM IS A LETTER WRITTEN BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND?

Regular interrogative against verb, Active and Passive.

WHAT DO YOU DO A LETTER TO YOUR FRIEND?

WHAT IS A LETTER DONE BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND?

Regular interrogative against object, Active and Passive.

WHAT DO YOU WRITE TO YOUR FRIEND?

WHAT IS WRITTEN BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND?

Regular interrogative against indirect object or adjunct , Active and Passive.

TO WHOM DO YOU WRITE A LETTER?

TO WHOM IS A LETTER WRITTEN BY YOU?

Specific interrogative positive, Active and Passive.

DO YOU WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FRIEND?

IS A LETTER WRITTEN BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND?

Specific interrogative negative, Active and Passive.

DON'T YOU WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FRIEND?

ISN'T A LETTER WRITTEN BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND?

Tag interrogative positive, Active and Passive.

YOU DO WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FRIEND,  DON'T YOU?

A LETTER IS WRITTEN BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND, ISN'T IT?

Specific interrogative negative, Active and Passive.

YOU DON'T WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FRIEND,  DO YOU?

A LETTER ISN'T WRITTEN BY YOU TO YOUR FRIEND, IS IT?

[NOTE

It's possible in all tenses. That will be seen later.

This task may be used to read, study, practice to develop your grammar skills.
