குறள் 1051:
இரக்க இரத்தக்கார்க் காணின் கரப்பின்
அவர்பழி தம்பழி அன்று

விளக்கம்:
இல்லாமையில் உழல்பவன் இருப்பவனிடம் உதவி கேட்கும் பட்சத்தில், பொருள் தரத் தகுதியுடையவன் தாராதிருந்தால் அவனுக்குத்தான் அது இழுக்கு

When a man who is in poverty looks for help to a wealthier, if the wealthier denies to help despite having a lot, it's a degrade only to the wealthier.

கொடுக்கல் வாங்கலில் துன்பமுறும் நிலை ஏதுமில்லையெனில், கொடுத்தவருக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி வாங்கியவருக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி.

றிரப்பவர் மேற்கொள் வது

விளக்கம்:
இருப்பது என் பொருள் நான் யாருக்கும் தரேன் என்று சொல்லாமல் வறுமையாளரின் முகத்தை பார்த்தே ஈகையை கடமையாய் செய்பவர்கள் உள்ளதால் தான் கேட்போர்கள் (இரப்போர்கள்) துன்பம் இல்லாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

இல்லை என்று சொல்லாத ஈகை மனம் கொண்டோரை கண்டாலே போதும், வறுமையாளரின் துன்பம் பறந்து போகும்.

If those who do never say the word 'NOTHING' and having helping Trait always- are just seen by the povertised persons that's enough. The misery of povertised would fly away.

உதவி கேட்போரை இகழ்ந்து பேசாது, அவர் நிலை கண்டு இரக்கம் காட்டி மதித்து நடந்துகொள்வோரை கண்டால், உதவி கேட்போருக்கு மனம் மகிழ்ந்துபோகும்.

பொருளிருப்போர், இல்லாதோர்க்கு இரக்கம் காட்டி ஈகை செய்ய தவறுபவர்கள் நடமாடும் மர பொம்மைகளை போன்றவர்கள்.

ஈகை செய்யாதோர் மேல் பொருள் கேட்போர் கோபம் கொள்தல் கூடாது. கேட்டும் கிடைக்காத நிலை துன்பம் என்றால் அதற்கு காரணம் வறுமையே.
