குறள் 1251:
காமக் கணிச்சி உடைக்கும் நிறையென்னும்
நாணுத்தாழ் வீழ்த்த கதவு
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
நிறை எனும் கதவு வெட்கம் எனும் தாழ்ப்பாளால் பூட்டப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் காமம் எனும் கோடரி அதை உடைத்தெறிந்துவிடும்.

Even though there is a big door namely shy to protect feminine, the axe namely lust would crack it easily.

காமம் எனவொன்றோ கண்ணின்றென் நெஞ்சத்தை

காமம் என்கிற தன்மைக்கு கண்களெல்லாம் இல்லையாதலால்தான் நடுஜாமத்திலும் என் நெஞ்சத்தை அலைபாயவைக்கிறது.

மறைப்பேன்மன் காமத்தை யானோ குறிப்பின்றித்
தும்மல்போல் தோன்றி விடும்

விளக்கம்:
குறிப்பில்லாமல் வரும் தும்மலை எப்படி அடக்க முடியாதோ அது போல் தான் காதலும். மறைக்க முயன்றாலும் என்னையும் அறியாமல் வெளிப்படுத்தி விடுகிறேன்.

As it is impossible to stop sneezing that is felt without indication, love too can't be suppressed even if I try to suppress it.

மறையிறந்து மன்று படும்

ரகசியம் காப்பதில் கைதேர்ந்தவள் நான் என்று தான் இது நாள் வரை எண்ணியிருந்தேன். இப்பொழுது தான் தெரிகிறது காதல் நோயை பிறரிடம் மறைக்க தெரியாத மக்கு நான் என்று !

பிரிந்த காதலனின் பின்தொடரா சூழலால் வரும் துயரத்தை தாங்கி நிற்கும் பெருந்தன்மையை காதல் நோய்  பீடித்தவரே நன்கு அறிவர்.

செற்றவர் பின்சேறல் வேண்டி அளித்தரோ

பிரிந்து சென்றவரை வெறுக்காது அவரை பின்தொடர்ந்து அவருடனே செல்ல வேண்டும் என்று துடிக்க வைக்கும் இந்த காதல் நோய் உண்மையிலேயே கொடுமையானது.

The state of mind thinking that to shamelessly follow the lover who parted without caring me is delivering the message that the love disease is crucial one.

நாணென ஒன்றோ அறியலம் காமத்தால்
பேணியார் பெட்ப செயின்

விளக்கம்:
காதலின் தாக்கத்தால் அவர் செய்த அன்புச் செயல்களை அதே காதல் தாக்கத்தால் தான் நான் வெட்கப்படாமல் அவற்றை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டேன்.

பண்பிற்குரிய பெண்மையை உடைக்கும் வல்லமை காதலரின் கசிந்துருக்கும் கள்ள வார்த்தைகளுக்கு உண்டு என்பதை அறிந்தேன்.

ஊடல் கொண்டு விலகலாம் என்று வெளி மனம் நினைத்தாலும், உள் மனம் அவரை ஆரத்தழுவி அன்பு காட்டவேண்டும் என்று உள் மனம் உந்துகிறது.

தீயில் இட்ட கொழுப்பு உருகுவது போல் நிலை காமத்தில் ஈருடலுக்கும்  இருக்கும்பொழுது, இணைந்து களித்து இன்பம் பெற்றபின் ஊடலுக்கு இடம் ஏது?
