A VOICE ABOUT VOICES- V.MAHENDIRAN

Why are there 2 voices....?
Can't one speak or write using only in active voice...?
Why can't...?
It's just up to you. Truth be told, in Tamil language, probably only active is used in spoken form. Some literate structures may need passive like stage addressing and so on. Otherwise in our usual life, rather active is used than passive.
But in English not like that, you will have some situation to use only passive though active is used actively.
If the subject in your sentence deals an object or adv or comp, that is meant an active structure.
If you give importance the subject of your sentence that to be driven by an object , or sometimes, without object too, that is meant Passive structure.
There are two types in each.
Transitive Active and Intransitive Active
Personal passive and Impersonal Passive
If there is an object in your active structure, that is called Transitive Active, If no, that is Intransitive Active.
SHEELA WRITES POEMS- Transitive Active
SHEELA RUNS FAST- Intransitive Active
Likewise, in passive too. If there is an object, that is called personal Passive, if no, that is Impersonal passive.
CREDIT CARDS ARE MODIFIED BY THE BANK- Personal Passive
CREDIT CARDS ARE ACCEPTED HERE- Impersonal passive.
