குறள் 1151:
செல்லாமை உண்டேல் எனக்குரை மற்றுநின்
வல்வரவு வாழ்வார்க் குரை
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
நீ என்னைவிட்டு பிரிவதில்லை என்றால் மட்டும் என்னிடம் சொல். பிரிந்து போவதாக இருந்தால் நீ திரும்பிவரும்பொழுது உயிருடன் இருக்கும் இந்த மக்களிடம் சொல்லிவிட்டு செல். அது எனக்கான செய்தியல்ல.

If you are assure that you would never leave me, you can say to me bye. If you leave me permanently, say your bye to these people who are going to be alive when you return.

இன்கண் உடைத்தவர் பார்வல் பிரிவஞ்சும்
புன்கண் உடைத்தால் புணர்வு

விளக்கம்:
முன்பெல்லாம் அவரை கண்டாலே இன்பம் பெருகும். பிரியப்போகிறோம் என்பதனால் இப்பொழுதெல்லாம் தழுவும்பொழுது கூட துன்பம் வாட்டுகிறது.

Earlier, I would feel so pleasant even if he pays his sight on me. But nowadays I am very much worried out even on his hugging because I notice that we are to leave with each other.

காதலர்கள் பிரிவது என்பது இயல்பாம். எனவே அறிவு நிறை என்னவர் பிரியேன் எனச் சொல்வதை என்னால் உறுதி செய்ய இயலவில்லை.

இணையும் பொழுது நமக்குள் பிரிவு என்பதே இல்லை அஞ்சாதே என கூறியவர், இப்பொழுது நாம் பிரிகிறோம் என்கிறார். அவர் பேச்சை நான் நம்பியது எப்படி என் குற்றம் ஆகும்?

He had promised strongly when we fell on love that we would never leave with each other. He says now simply that we are to leave with each other. Is it my fault what I had believed his words?

அவர் எனை விட்டு பிரியாச் சூழ்நிலை  எனக்கு ஏற்படவேண்டும். ஏனெனில், காதலர்கள்  பிரிந்தால் கூடுவது அரிது எனும் சோகம் எனை வாட்டுகிறது.

I need the state that I ought not to leave from him. Because, I am hearing if the lovers are separated they can't rejoin. I am worried a lot in this regard.

பிரிவுரைக்கும் வன்கண்ணர் ஆயின் அரிதவர்
நல்குவர் என்னும் நசை

விளக்கம்:
பிரிகிறேன் எனச் சொல்ல துணிந்த என்னவர், திரும்ப வந்து அதே அன்பை என்னிடம் காட்டுவார் என நம்புவது வீண் ஆவல்.

While he dared to saying frankly that he is leaving from my heart, how could I believe that he would come back to me and show the same kind of love?

துறைவன் துறந்தமை தூற்றாகொல் முன்கை
இறைஇறவா நின்ற வளை

விளக்கம்:
கழலாத என் வளையல்கள் அவர் பிரிவால் கழற்றப்பட்டு நாங்கள் பிரிந்த செய்தி ஊராரால் தூற்றப்படுமோ என அஞ்சுகிறேன்.

Really I am in misery deeply because the entire people would notice and giggle at me of our love-separation when my beautiful bangles would be removed from my hands on the time of our leaving with each other.

இன்னா தினியார்ப் பிரிவு

விளக்கம்:
அன்புமிக்க உறவினர்களை பிரிந்து வாழ்வது துன்பமானதுதான். துன்பத்திலும் துன்பமானது யாதெனில், காதலர்கள் பிரிவது.

The deep misery is that leaving benevolent colleagues from us. The deepest misery is that lovers are leaving with each other (the separation of love).

விடிற்சுடல் ஆற்றுமோ தீ

விளக்கம்:
தீயை தொட்டால் தான் சுடும். தொடாவிடில் எப்படி சுடும்?  காதல் பிரிவின் துயரமோ அனுதினமும் சுட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும்.

The fire would not burn us when we don't touch it. It would burn only when we touch it. But the evil state of separation of love would be burning at all time.

அரிதாற்றி அல்லல்நோய் நீக்கிப் பிரிவாற்றிப்
பின்இருந்து வாழ்வார் பலர்

பிரியும்பொழுது மணம் ஒப்பாமல் பின் மணம் ஒப்பி, பிரிந்த துயரத்தை பொருத்துக்கொண்டு உயிர் வாழும் காதலர்கள் பலர் இருக்கிறார்கள் தான்!
