குறள் 1181:
நயந்தவர்க்கு நல்காமை நேர்ந்தேன் பசந்தவென்
பண்பியார்க் குரைக்கோ பிற
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
அவரின் விருப்பப்படி பிரிவுக்கு சம்மதித்தேன். பிரிவால் என் மேனி பசலைக் காண்கிறதே (வெளிர்ந்து போகிறதே, எனது இயற்கை நிறம் மாறுகிறதே) அதை நான் யாரிடம் போய் சொல்வேன்?

Explanation in English:
I consented when he had asked me for separation. Being so, My entire body gets a kind of PASALAI status. (PASALAI means that a kind of change of colour from normal to white or brownish on body or skin). Whom can I complain with for this error?

என் மேனியில் படரும் இந்த பசலை நிறம், உன்னவர் உனை பிரிந்ததால் வந்த பரிசு என என்னிடம் நகைத்துச் சொல்லி ஊர்ந்து படர்வதாக உணர்கிறேன்.

I feel that the PASAL itself blames me  that this status is a gift for me because of the separation of our love, and it joyfully spreads over my body.

அவரது பிரிவால் என் அழகையும் வெட்க்கத்தையும் இழந்து காதல் துன்பத்தையும் பசலை நிறத்தையும் தான் ஈடாகப் பெற்றேன்.

In fact, What I feel is that I got misery and this PASAL status as a compensation by losing my shyness and my beauty because of the separation of our love.

அவர் நினைவே எனக்கு. அவரது பெருமைப் பற்றிதான் தினமும் பேசுகிறேன். இருந்தும் என் மேனி பசலைநிறம் கண்டது எப்படி? வஞ்சனை அல்லது சாபமாக இருக்குமோ?

Whereas I am always thinking and talking about the prides of my man, I'm surprised of my getting this PASAL disease on my body. I suspect whether it is a deception or curse done by anybody.

மேனி பசப்பூர் வது

விளக்கம்:
என் காதலர் பிரிந்து சென்றது தான் தாமதம், அதற்குள் என் மேனி முழுதும் பசலைநிறம் படர்ந்து போனது தான் ஆச்சரியம்!

The big surprise is, No sooner my spouse left out from me than the PASAL disease started to  spread over on my body!

விளக்கற்றம் பார்க்கும் இருளேபோல் கொண்கண்
முயக்கற்றம் பார்க்கும் பசப்பு

விளக்கம்:
விளக்கொளியை கண்டதும் இருள் உடனே விலகி ஓடுவிடுவதை போல, அவரது தழுவல் சற்று விலகியதும் என் மேனியில் பசலை நிறம் படர ஆரம்பித்து விடுகிறது.

Explanation in English:
As if the dark would fly away as soon as getting light of enlightening the lamp, the PASAL would start to spread over my body when my man stops his hugging on me.

புல்லிக் கிடந்தேன் புடைபெயர்ந்தேன் அவ்வளவில்
அள்ளிக்கொள் வற்றே பசப்பு

அவரைத் தழுவிக் கிடந்தேன் யாதொரு துன்பமும் இல்லை. கொஞ்சம் தள்ளி நகர்ந்தேன், என் மேனி எங்கும் பசலை படர்ந்தது.

Explanation in English:
When I am hugging my man with love, no any misery is found to be. But when he or I leave out the hugging, PASAL starts to spread over my body.

பசந்தாள் இவளென்ப தல்லால் இவளைத்
துறந்தார் அவரென்பார் இல்

விளக்கம்:
பசலைப் படர்ந்தாள் இவள்- என்று எள்ளி நகையாடும் இந்த உலகம், இவளை விட்டு பிரிந்து இவளை துன்பத்தில் ஆழ்த்திவிட்டாரே - என்று கூறாதது தான் துயரம்.

What the big misery is, 'The world which is  always ready to blame me as I got PASAL on my body would not ready to put sympathy on me for the separation of our love.'

நன்னிலையர் ஆவர் எனின்

விளக்கம்:
எனை பிரிந்து, எனை அவர் துயரத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியது இருக்கட்டும். பிரிந்தவர் நலமுடன் இருக்கிறார் என்றாலே போதும். என்  மேனி மேலும் பசலைக் கொண்டாலும் மகிழ்ச்சியே.

What I am being worried of our separation of love is not a matter. If my man is healthy and well wherever he is, that is pleasant news to me. I would not bother about the PASAL being over my body.

எனை சம்மதிக்க வைத்து பிரிந்து சென்ற என் அவரை உலகம் தூற்றாமல் இருந்தாலே போதும். என் மேனியில் பசலைப் படர்ந்ததை இவ்வூர் மக்கள் ஏசுவதைக் கூட நான் பெரிதாக கருதமாட்டேன்.

If the world is not blaming or accusing my man as he leftover me, that's enough. I will never bother the giggling words of this world blaming me for my carrying PASAL over my body.
