குறள் 1191:

தாம்வீழ்வார் தம்வீழப் பெற்றவர் பெற்றாரே

காமத்துக் காழில் கனி

- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:

விரும்புபவராலேயே விரும்பப்பட்டு பெரும்பேறு பெற்ற காதலர், விதையிலா கனியை பெற்ற பெருமையும் பெறுகிறார்.

He who is loved by her whom he loves and so has gotten the great gift is also getting the pride as if getting seedless fruit.

விளக்கம்:

விரும்புவரை விரும்பி ஏற்று வாழும் வாழ்க்கைநிலை என்பது உயிர் வாழும் ஜீவராசிகளுக்கு மேகமாக வந்து மழை தந்து உதவுவது போலாகும்.

வீழுநர் வீழப் படுவார்க் கமையுமே

வாழுநம் என்னும் செருக்கு

விளக்கம்:

விரும்பும் துணையுடன் விரும்பி வாழும் வாழ்க்கையில் பிரிவு சிறிது வந்தாலும் கூட இணைந்தே இன்பமுடன் வாழ்வோம் என்ற செருக்கு உறுதியாய் இருக்கும்.

விளக்கம்:

தான் விரும்பி, ஆனால் துணையால் விரும்பப்படாமல் ஒரு காதல் தொடர்ந்தால், உலகமே தன்னை விரும்பினாலும் தனக்கு துயர நிலையே.

If she loves him very much while he doesn't do her, and If she resumes her love, she is of course in misery even though the entire world loves her.

நாம்காதல் கொண்டார் நமக்கெவன் செய்பவோ

தாம்காதல் கொள்ளாக் கடை

விளக்கம்:

அவள் அவனை விரும்பியும் அவன் அவளை விரும்பாவிடில், காதலித்து அவனால் எந்த பயனும் அவளுக்கு வந்து விடப்போவதில்லை.

ஒருதலையான் இன்னாது காமங்காப் போல

இருதலை யானும் இனிது

ஒரு தலை காதலால் உபயோகம் ஏதும் இருக்காது. காவடியின் நடுத்தண்டில் இரு புறமும் பாரம் சீராய் இருப்பதுபோல் இருவரும் விரும்பும் காதலே இனிமையானது.

No pleasance can be seen on the one-sided love. Only the love that is like a balanced dangling scale due to even weight would cause more pleasance in life.

பருவரலும் பைதலும் காணான்கொல் காமன்

ஒருவர்கண் நின்றொழுகு வான்

விளக்கம்:

காமம் அவள் புறம் மட்டும் நின்று செயல்பட்டு அவன் புறம் கல்லாய் நின்றால் அவள் மேனி நிறம் மாறி பசலை காண்பது திண்ணம்.

பிரிந்த அவனிடமிருந்து யாதொரு இனிதான செய்தியும் வராத அவளின் வாழ்க்கையை போன்றதோர் கொடும் நிலை வேறெதுவும் இருக்க முடியாது.

பிரிந்த காதலர் அவள் மீது அன்பு காட்டாவிடினும் கூட பரவாயில்லை. அவனை பற்றிய புகழான வார்த்தைகளை கேட்பது அவளுக்கு இன்பத் தேன் போன்றதாகும்.

செறாஅஅய் வாழிய நெஞ்சு

நெஞ்சமே வாழ்க. உன் மீது அன்பு காட்டாதவரிடம் நீ ஏன் உன் துன்பத்தை சொல்லி அழ முயற்ச்சிக்கிறாய்? அதற்கு பதிலாக இந்த கடலை நீ துர்க்கலாம். அது உனக்கு எளிது.

Oh my heart, best wishes to you. Why do you try to share your worries to him while he doesn't care about the love? Instead, it's better you fill in the ocean by sand. This is easier than that.
