குறள் 1281:
உள்ளக் களித்தலும் காண மகிழ்தலும்
கள்ளுக்கில் காமத்திற் குண்டு
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
நினைத்த மாத்திரத்தில் களிப்படையும் தன்மையும்  கண்ணால் கண்டு இன்புறும் தன்மையும் கள்ளுக்கில்லை காமத்திற்கு தான் உண்டு.

குறள் 1282:
தினைத்துணையும் ஊடாமை வேண்டும் பனைத்துணையும்
காமம் நிறைய வரின்

துணையுடன் இணையும்கால் தினையளவும் பிணக்கு இல்லாமல் இருப்பின், காமம் பனை அளவு பெருகி ஓடும்.

மை தீட்டும்பொழுது தீட்டும் கோல் காணாமல் போய் விடுவது போல் குற்ற நெஞ்சன் என் அவனை கண்டதும் அவன் மீதுள்ள கோபம் மறைந்துபோய் விடுகிறதே, என்ன மாயம்!

காதலர் கண்ணருகில் இருக்கும்பொழுது அவர் செய்த தவறுகள் என் நினைவுக்கு வருவதில்லை. அவரை நான் காணாமல் இருக்கும் பொழுது அவர் செய்த தவறுகள் தவிர எதுவும் என் நினைவுக்கு வருவதில்லை.

வெள்ளம் இழுத்துப்போகும் என்று அறிந்தும் பாயத்துணியும் அவருக்கு என்னுடன் கூடலின் பொழுது நான் ஊடல் செய்வதால் என்ன பயன்?
