குறள் 1321:
இல்லை தவறவர்க் காயினும் ஊடுதல்
வல்ல தவரளிக்கும் ஆறு
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
காதலர்களிடத்தில் தவறே இல்லாவிடினும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஊடல் செய்து இளைப்பாறுவது போன்று ஒரு சுகம் ஏதும் இல்லை.

Even if there is no mistake on either of lovers, some kind of pleasant quarrel should be there. because, nothing could pay the most pleasure as if a kind of clash gives.

ஊடல் சற்றே அன்பை வாடச் செய்து வருத்தம் தந்தாலும் காதலர்களுக்கு அது பெருமை தரக்கூடிய விஷயமாகும்.

தவறே இல்லாமல் போனாலும் அவளுடன் ஊடல் செய்து அவளை . தழுவாதிருப்பதும்கூட ஒருவித இன்பம் தான்.

உணலினும் உண்ட தறலினிது காமம்
புணர்தலின் ஊடல் இனிது

புதிய உணவு உண்பதற்கு முன் முன்பு உண்ட உணவு செரிப்பதே இன்பம். அதுபோல காதலர்கள் கூடுவதில் காணும் இன்பத்தை விட ஊடுவதில் காணும் இன்பமே சுகம் தரும்.

ஊடலில் தோற்பவரே வெற்றிகண்டவராவார் என்கிற உண்மை ஊடலுக்கு பின்பு நடக்கும் கூடலின் பொழுது கிடைக்கும் இன்பத்தின்பொழுதுதான் விளங்கும்.

ஒளி நிறைந்த என் அவளின் ஊடல் நீடிக்கட்டும்; அதை தணிக்க நான் இரங்கும் நிலையும் நீடிக்கட்டும்; இச்செயல்களால் இரவுப் பொழுதும் நீடித்து எங்களுக்கு இன்பம் தரட்டும்!
