குறள் 301:
செல்லிடத்துக் காப்பான் சினங்காப்பான் அல்லிடத்துக்
காக்கினென் காவாக்கா லென்

விளக்கம்:
தன் கோபம் பலித்துவிடும் என்கிற சூழ்நிலையில் அஞ்சி சினம் கொள்ளாதவனே புத்திசாலி. மற்ற இடங்களில் கோபம் கொண்டாலும் கொள்ளாவிட்டாலும் அது ஒரு பொருட்டாகாது.

Explanation in English:
If one controls himself by knowing that his anger would effect badly because of the situation, he is intelligent. Other types of anger is not considered as a matter.

குறள் 302:
செல்லா இடத்துச் சினந்தீது செல்லிடத்தும்
இல்லதனின் தீய பிற

விளக்கம்:
வலியோரிடத்தில் சினங்கொண்டால் தீமைதான் விளையும் அதுபோல எளியோரிடம் சினம் காட்டுதல் அறத்திற்கு புறம்பானது.

Explanation in English:
Angering on strong persons would cause to one numberless evils. Likewise angering on weak persons is against the Morality.

குறள் 303:
மறத்தல் வெகுளியை யார்மாட்டுந் தீய
பிறத்தல் அதனான் வரும்

விளக்கம்:
எவரிடத்திலும் சினம் கொள்வதை மறப்பது நலம். இல்லேல் அந்த சினத்தாலேயே தீமைகள் வரும்.

Explanation in English:
It's better to forget angering on anyone from the root. Otherwise it would bring an infinite evils.

குறள் 304:
நகையும் உவகையுங் கொல்லுஞ் சினத்தின்
பகையும் உளவோ பிற

விளக்கம்:
சிரிப்பையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் தரும் கோபத்தை விட ஒருவனுக்கு  பகை வேறொன்றுமில்லை.

Explanation in English:
No one is as a big enemy to one as an anger is, even if it may cause happiness and laugh.

தன்னைத்தான் காக்கின் சினங்காக்க காவாக்கால்
தன்னையே கொல்லுஞ் சினம்

விளக்கம்:
தன் சினமே ஒருவனை அழித்துவிடுமாகையால், தன்னை காபந்து செய்துகொள்ள வேண்டுமாயின் சினம்கொள்ளாமல் இருப்பது நலம்.

Explanation in English:
If one wants to protect himself, he ought not to getting anger on anyone because it would surely destroy him.

குறள் 306:
சினமென்னுஞ் சேர்ந்தாரைக் கொல்லி இனமென்னும்
ஏமப் புணையைச் சுடும்

விளக்கம்:
சினம் தன்னை மட்டுமின்றி, தன்னை காத்து நிற்கும் சுற்றத்தையும் அழித்துவிடும்.

Explanation in English:
Anger would destroy not only oneself but also all who are protecting him.

சினத்தைப் பொருளென்று கொண்டவன் கேடு
நிலத்தறைந்தான் கைபிழையா தற்று

விளக்கம்:
கைகளால் நிலத்தை அறைந்தால் கைகளுக்கு தான் கேடு அதுபோல சினம்தான் தன்னை காக்கும் கைப்பொருள் என்று நினைப்பனுக்கு கேடு தான் வரும்.

Explanation in English:
The act of slamming the land by hands would cause pain only to hands. Likewise if one thinks that his anger is a safeguard for him, he would surely meet evils.

குறள் 308:
இணரெரி தோய்வன்ன இன்னா செயினும்
புணரின் வெகுளாமை நன்று

விளக்கம்:
சுடும் நெருப்பைக் காட்டிலும் மோசமான துன்பத்தை தந்தவனாகினும் நாடி வருங்கால், பகையை நினைத்து சினம் கொள்ளுதல் கூடாது.

Explanation in English:
If one nears to one to make friendliness eventhough he had done infinite evils that are worst than burning fire, one should not get anger on him by thinking past events.

குறள் 309:
உள்ளிய தெல்லாம் உடனெய்தும் உள்ளத்தால்
உள்ளான் வெகுளி யெனின்

விளக்கம்:
உள்ளத்திலிருந்து சினம் எனும் குணத்தை அகற்றிவிட்டால், அனைத்து இன்பமும் அவனிடம் வந்துசேரும்.

Explanation in English:
If one removes the root of anger from his heart, all wealth would cummulate to him.

இறந்தார் இறந்தா ரனையர் சினத்தைத்
துறந்தார் துறந்தார் துணை

விளக்கம்:
சினம் எனும் குணம் கொண்டோர் இறந்தோர்க்கு சமமானவர்கள். சினத்தை தூக்கியெறிந்தோர் துறவிகளுளுக்கு ஒப்பானவர்கள்.

Explanation in English:
Angering guys are equallent to dead persons likewise, those who have given up their anger are parellel to sages.
