குறள் 1111:
நன்னீரை வாழி அனிச்சமே நின்னினும்
மென்னீரள் யாம்வீழ் பவள்
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
மென்மைக்கு புகழ் பெற்றது அனிச்சம் மலர் தான். யார் இல்லை என்றது. ஆனால் அதை விட மென்மையானவள் என்னை வீழ்த்திய என் அவள்.

என் அவள், மூங்கில் போன்ற தோள்களுடையாள்; அவள் மேனி மாந்தளிரை போன்றது; முத்துக்கள் போன்ற பற்களுடையாள்; இயற்கை மணமே அவள் நறுமணம்; வேலை போன்ற விழிகளுடையவள்.

அவள் அணிச்சம் மலர்களை காம்பு நீக்காமல் அணிந்தது தான் தாமதம், அவளது மெல்லிய இடை ஒடிந்தது. பறை முழக்கம் இனிதாக இல்லை.

நிலவோ தேயும் பின் வளரும். களங்கம் உண்டு நிலவுக்கு. என் தேவதையின் முகத்தில் அப்படியொரு களங்கம் என்றும் இருந்ததில்லை.
