குறள் 1121:
பாலொடு தேன்கலந் தற்றே பணிமொழி
வாலேயி றூறிய நீர்
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
மென்மையாக பேசும் இவளது இதழ் சுரக்கும் அமுத நீர், பாலோடு தேன் கலந்தால் தரும்  சுவையை விட சுவையானதாகும்.

உடலுக்கும் உயிருக்கும் உள்ள உறவு பிண்ணிபிணைந்தது என்றால், அவளுக்கும் எனக்கும் உள்ள உறவும் அத்தகையதே.

கண்மணிக்குள் ஒளிந்திருக்கும் பாவையே, நான் விருப்பும் அழகி வருகிறாள். நீ விலகிச்சென்று அவளுக்கு அங்கே இடம் தரலாமே.

ஆபரணம் நிறைந்த அழகு பதுமையான இவள் என்னை தழுவும்பொழுது என் உடம்புக்கு உயிர் தருகிறாள். நீங்கும்பொழுது என் உயிரையே எடுத்துச் சென்றுவிடுகிறாள்.

ஒளி நிறை விழிகள் கொண்ட என் வேல் விழியாளை நான் என்றும் மறவேன். மறந்தால் தானே நினைத்துப்பார்க்க வேண்டும்?

நுண்ணியர்எம் காத லவர்

விளக்கம்:
என் கண்ணைவிட்டு அகலா பிரியமானவர் எம் காதலர். கண்ணை மூடித் திறக்கும் தருணத்திலும் என் கண்ணின் உள்ளேயே மயங்கி கிடக்கும் மதிநுட்பக்காரர் அவர்.

My man won't go away from my eyes ever. The cleverest man would never leave even when I blink my eyes. He would always be sleeping inside of my eyes.

கண்ணுள்ளார் காத லவராகக் கண்ணும்
எழுதேம் கரப்பாக் கறிந்து

விளக்கம்:
என் கண்ணின் உள்ளேயே பரந்து கிடக்கும் என்னவர், நான் என் கண்களுக்கு மை தீட்டினால், மறைந்து போனால் என் செய்வேன்? என் விழியை அழகு செய்ய நான் மை தீட்டுவதில்லை.

I wouldn't draw my eyebrows for beautifying my eyes because, if my man who is living in my eyes  is suppressed due to such action, What would I do?

நெஞ்சத்தார் காத லவராக வெய்துண்டல்
அஞ்சுதும் வேபாக் கறிந்து

விளக்கம்:
சூடான உணவை நான் உண்ணுவதில்லை. என் அன்பிற்குரிய காதலர் என் நெஞ்சத்துள் வாழ்வதால், நெஞ்சம் வழிச்செல்லும் அச்சூடான உணவு அவரை சூடுபடுத்திவிட்டால் என் செய்வேன்?

I don't use to take hot food, because my most loving man is dwelling inside my heart. If the hot food that goes near my heart burns him what would I do?

ஏதிலர் என்னுமிவ் வூர்

என் காதலர் என் விழியினூடே இருப்பதால், நான் இமைத்தால் அவர் தோன்றமாட்டார் என்பதால் நான் விழி மூடுவதில்லை. விழி மூடா நிலையை அவர் எனக்கு தந்துவிட்டதனால், அவரை அன்பற்றவர் என்கிறது இச்சமூகம்.

Since my loving man is living in my eyes, if I blink my eyes he may not appear often. Hence I don't use to blink my eyes. Being so, the society blames him a loveless man as if he has made me not to blink my eyes!

நெஞ்சத்துள் எம் காதலர் நீக்கமற நிறைந்து வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்பொழுது பிரிந்து வாழ்வதாக இச்சமூகம் கூறுவது தான் வியப்பு.
