மாலையோ அல்லை மணந்தார் உயிருண்ணும்
வேலைநீ வாழி பொழுது
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
மணந்து வாழ்ந்த நாங்கள் பிரிந்திருக்கும் இச்சூழலில் என் உயிரை வாங்கும் வேலாக வந்திருக்கும் மாலைப் பொழுதே நீர் வாழ்க.

மருண்டு போய் இருளாய் மாறிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் மாலைப் பொழுதே, நீயும் என்னைப் போல் துணைவனை பிரிந்து வருந்துகிறாயோ?

முன்பு அவருடன் நான் இருந்த காலத்தில் எங்கள்பால் வந்து எனக்கு பசலை காண வைத்த மாலைப் பொழுதே, உனை நான் இப்பொழுது மீண்டும் காணும்கால் என் துன்பம் இன்னும் அதிகமாகிறது.

காதலர் இலா சமயம் வரும் மாலைப்பொழுது, துணையிலா சமயம் ஒருவரை பகைவரவர் கொலை செய்ய வருவது போலானதாகும்.

காலைப் பொழுதிற்கு நான் நிறைய நன்மை செய்தேனோ... அது துன்பம் தரவில்லையே! அது போல் இந்த மாலைப் பொழுதிற்கு என் மேல் ஏன் இத்தனை பகை... என்னை துன்புறுத்துகிறதே!

Have I helped a lot to the morning time? Because it is not injuring me. Likewise, what is anger to this evening time on me? It is injuring me a lot.

காலை அறிந்த திலேன்

மாலைப்பொழுது இத்தனை துன்பம் தரும் என்பதை என் காதலர் என்னுடன் இருந்தவரை நான் அறிந்ததே இல்லை.

காலை அரும்பிப் பகலெல்லாம் போதாகி
மாலை மலருமிந் நோய்

காலையில் அரும்பி பகல் பொழுதெல்லாம் வளர்ந்து மாலைப் பொழுதில் மலர்வதே காதல் நோய் ஆகும்.

The pain of love is that which forms in the morning and grows up over the day time and then blossoms in the evening.

அழல்போலும் மாலைக்குக் தூதாகி ஆயன்
குழல்போலும் கொல்லும் படை

தீயாய் சுடும் இந்த மாலைப்பொழுதின் வருகையை உணர்த்துவதால் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணனின் இந்த இனிய புல்லாங்குழல் ஓசை கூட எனக்கு எனை கொல்ல வரும் படையின் சங்கு சப்தமாகவே கேட்கிறது.

Since it signals the arrival of the fire-ful evening time, the sweet sound of fluet played by the Lord Sri Krishnan too is heard by me like a siren sound of troops who come to kill me.

மாலைப் பொழுது வரும் பொழுது நான்  மதியிழந்து போவது ஒரு புறம், மறுபுறம் இவ்வூராரும் துன்பம் கொல்வதாகவே நான் எண்ணுகிறேன்.

At the time of arrival of evening, not only I lose my mind but also the people too meet miseries is felt by me.

பொருள் ஈட்ட அவர் சென்றதால் ஏற்பட்ட பிரிவின் துயரம் தாங்கிக் கொள்ளக் கூடியது தான் என்றாலும் மாலைப்பொழுது வந்துவிட்டால் உயிர் போகும் வலியை உணர்கிறேன்.
