குறள் 101:
செய்யாமல் செய்த உதவிக்கு வையகமும்
வானகமும் ஆற்றல் அரிது

விளக்கம்:
யாதொரு உதவியும் பிறர்க்கு செய்யாமல் அந்த பிறரால் உபகாரம் அடைந்தோர் இந்த விண்ணுலகம் மண்ணுலகத்தையும் தந்தாலும் அது ஈடாகாது.

Explanation in English:
One who has done nothing a help to others but has been helped a lot by others cannot compensate even if he gifts this sky and earth.

குறள் 102:
காலத்தி னாற்செய்த நன்றி சிறிதெனினும்
ஞாலத்தின் மாணப் பெரிது

விளக்கம்:
கஷ்ட்ட காலத்திலிருக்கும்பொழுது பெறும் உதவி சிறிதாக இருந்தாலும் அது இவ்வுலகை விட மிகப்பெரியது.

Explanation in English:
A help done by one timely at a crisis even if such is small is bigger than this world.

குறள் 103:
பயன்தூக்கார் செய்த உதவி நயன்தூக்கின்
நன்மை கடலின் பெரிது

விளக்கம்:
எந்த பிரதிபலனையும் மனதில்கூட நினைக்காது ஆற்றும் உதவியானது கடலைவிட மிகப்பெரியது.

Explanation in English:
The stance of a help enthusiastically done by one without any expectation is bigger than ocean.

குறள் 104:
தினைத்துணை நன்றி செயினும் பனைத்துணையாக்
கொள்வர் பயன்தெரி வார்

விளக்கம்:
ஒருவர் செய்த உதவி தினையளவாகினும், அவ்வுதவி செய்யப்பட்ட காலத்தை மனதில் வைத்து, பயனடைந்தவர் அது பனைமரத்தை காட்டிலும் உயரமானது என்பர்.

Explanation in English:
Even if the volume of help is a small size, the person who is helped would know that it is taller than a palm tree because of done at crisis time.

உதவி வரைத்தன் றுதவி உதவி
செயப்பட்டார் சால்பின் வரைத்து

விளக்கம்:
உதவியின் அளவு பெரிதோ சிறிதோ, உதவி அடைந்தவரின் பண்பை பொறுத்தே உதவியின் அளவுகோள் என்னவென்று அறியமுடியும்.

The type and volume of a help is not a matter but its scale and quality is categorised based on the morality of the person who is helped.

மறவற்க மாசற்றார் கேண்மை துறவற்க
துன்பத்துள் துப்பாயார் நட்பு

விளக்கம்:
குற்றமற்றவர்களை மறக்காமல் இருப்பதுபோல், தக்க நேரத்தில் உதவியவர்களை துறக்காமல் இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.

Explanation in English:
One shouldn't quit persons who had helped on time as if shouldn't forget those who are crimeless in society.

குறள் 107:
எழுமை எழுபிறப்பும் உள்ளுவர் தங்கண்
விழுமந் துடைத்தவர் நட்பு

விளக்கம்:
துயரத்தின் பொழுது துணை நின்று உதவியவரின் நட்பை ஏழு பிறவி எடுத்தாலும் மறத்தல் ஆகாது.

Explanation in English:
One should never forget one's help done at the time of crisis even he gets born several times in the future

குறள் 108:
நன்றி மறப்பது நன்றன்று நன்றல்லது
அன்றே மறப்பது நன்று

விளக்கம்:
ஒருவர் செய்த உதவியை காலத்திற்கும் மறக்கக்கூடாது ஒருவேளை தீமைகள் செய்திருந்தால் அன்றே மறந்துவிடுவது நல்லது.

Explanation in English:
Forgetting helps done by one on time is not moral but the evils done by one should be forgotten on the spot.

கொன்றன்ன இன்னா செயினும் அவர்செய்த
ஒன்றுநன் றுள்ளக் கெடும்

விளக்கம்:
உதவி செய்தவர் பிறகொருகாலத்தில் கொடிய தீமை செய்தால் அவர் செய்த உதவியின் தரமும் கெட்டுபோகும்.

Explanation in English:
Even if one who had helped in the past does an extreme evil in the present, the tendency of his past help would lose its grade.

குறள் 110:
எந்நன்றி கொன்றார்க்கும் உய்வுண்டாம் உய்வில்லை
செய்ந்நன்றி கொன்ற மகற்கு

விளக்கம்:
எந்த ஒரு அறத்தையும் மறந்துபோனவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பு கிடைக்கலாம் ஆனால் ஒருவர் காலத்தில் செய்த உதவியை மறந்தவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பு கிடைக்காது.

Explanation in English:
Even If one destroys at any respect of virtue may be pardoned but the stance of forgetting the helps done by one will never be pardoned.
