எண்ணிலடங்கா எலிப்படை எதிர்த்து வருவதால் என்ன பயன்? நாகம் ஒன்று மூச்சு விட்டால் எலிகளனைத்தும் நாசமாகும். (படைக்கு எண்ணிக்கை பெரிதல்ல, வலிமை தான் முக்கியம்.)

வீரம் விவேகம் நிறைந்த போர்வீரர்களை ஒரு படை கொண்டிருந்தாலும், நல்லதோர் படைத்தலைவன் அப்படைக்கு இல்லாவிட்டால் அப்படை சிறந்து விளங்காது.
