நாநல மென்னும் நலனுடைமை அந்நலம்
யாநலத் துள்ளதூஉம் அன்று
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
நாவன்மை நலம் பல பயக்கும் ஆதலால் அது ஒரு பெருந்செல்வம். இதற்கு இணை கூறுவது அரிது.

நாவன்மையால் நல்லதும் நடக்கும் தீயதும் நடக்கும். நாவை தீயச் சொல் சொல்லாது கட்டுப்படுத்தும் திறன் அவசியம்.

பொருளறிந்து, ஆள் அறிந்து இடம் அறிந்து பேசுதல் வேண்டும். அதுவே அறமாகும்.
புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியாதோரிடத்தில் மேதாவித்தனம் காண்பிக்கக்கூடாது.

பேசும் சொற்களில், உயர்ந்த சொற்களை பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும். அதை விட சிறந்த  சொல் இல்லையே என்பது போல் இருக்க வேண்டும் பேசும் சொற்கள்.

அடுத்தோரை கவரும் விதத்தில் பேசுவது எப்படி முக்கியமோ அது போல பிறர் சொல்லும் நற்சொற்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் மனோபக்குவம் வேண்டும்.

கூறும் சொற்கள் சிறப்பாய் இருந்து, வாதத்திற்கு அஞ்சா நெஞ்சம் கொண்டு, வலியுறுத்தி நாவன்மை புரிபவனை வெல்வது கடினம்.
