விளக்கம்:
அரசன் யாது சொன்னாலும்  அடுத்த அரசிடம் தூது சொல்லும் முறையில் கண்ணியம் காப்பவனே நல்ல தூதுவன். அவன் சொல்ல வேண்டியதை மட்டும் சொல்ல வேண்டும். நீக்க வேண்டியதை அறிவுடன் நீக்க வேண்டும். எதிரிமன்னனுக்கு சினம் வரா வகையில் அந்த தூது அமையவேண்டும்.

அஞ்சா குணம், குறிப்பறிந்து ஆற்றும் அறிவார்ந்த செயல், எதிரியை சினம் கொள்ளா வைக்கும் தந்திரம்- இவை தூதுவனுக்கு முக்கியம்.

தூதன் எனப்படுபவன் தவறியும் குற்ற வார்த்தை கூறாதவனாக இருத்தல் வேண்டும். உறுதி மனம் கொண்டவனாக இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.

The ambassador should not tongue slip by crime words at any cost. He must have strong tendency in mind.

தூது சொல்லுங்கால், ஆபத்து நேரும் சூழ்நிலை ஏற்பட்டாலும் பயம்கொள்ளாமல், அரசுக்கு விசுவாசம் காட்டி கடமையாற்ற துணிபவனே சிறந்த தூதன்.
