குறள் 671:
சூழ்ச்சி முடிவு துணிவெய்தல் அத்துணிவு
தாழ்ச்சியுள் தங்குதல் தீது
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
ஒரு செயல் குறித்து நன்கு ஆராய்ந்து துணிவுடன் முடிவெடுக்க வேண்டும். முடிவு தீர்க்கமாக இருக்கும் கால், காலதாமதம் கூடாது.

The decision for an action must be taken strongly and patiently by examining the merits and demerits of the action. If the determination is finalised, shouldn't postpone at any reason.

தூங்காது செய்யும் வினை

விளக்கம்:
முக்கிய முடிவுகளில் நிதானம் தேவை. அவசரகதியில் எடுத்தல் கூடாது. விரைவில் முடிவெடுக்க வேண்டிய விஷயத்தில் காலம் தாழ்த்தல் கூடாது.

Deep concentration and patience are needed to take important decisions. Shouldn't hurry up before knowing the reason for urgency. But emergency action to be taken without postponing for important reasons.

ஒல்லும்வா யெல்லாம் வினைநன்றே ஒல்லாக்கால்
செல்லும்வாய் நோக்கிச் செயல்

விளக்கம்:
இயலுமிடத்தில் விரைந்து முடிவெடுத்து செயலாற்ற வேண்டும். இயலா இடங்களில் இயலாக் காரணத்தை ஆராய்ந்து இயலும் நிலைக்கு கொண்டு வர வேண்டும்.

Taking decisions to do actions is depending upon the stance of possibilities. If possility is fair to do an action, should do it immediately. If there is no possibility, should bring out that situation to be possible.

ஒரு செயலால் ஏற்பட்ட பகைக்கு முற்றுப்புள்ளி வைக்காமல் தொடரவிட்டால் அந்நிலை, அனைக்காது விட்ட நெருப்பைப் போன்றதாகும்.

If permanent solution isn't taken on an issue during actions, it is equallent to letting fire by not putting off it.

பொருள்கருவி காலம் வினையிடனொ டைந்தும்
இருள்தீர எண்ணிச் செயல்

என்ன பணி, எப்பொழுது, எந்த இடம், என்ன கருவியைக் கொண்டு எதற்காக - என்பதையெல்லாம் ஆராய்ந்த பின்பே  ஒரு செயலை தயக்கமின்றி துவங்கவேண்டும்.

One has to start to an action without hesitation but he should know clearly for what such action is done, and when and where and by which source that is done.

முடிவும் இடையூறும் முற்றியாங் கெய்தும்
படுபயனும் பார்த்துச் செயல்

விளக்கம்:
ஒரு செயலை செய்ய துவங்கும் முன் அச்செயலால் யாது பயன், தடை வந்தால் சமாளிப்பது எப்படி, செயல் தன்மை - இவற்றை ஆராய வேண்டும்.

Before starting an action, should know the aim and gain of that action, and should know how to crack any issue that may raise, and the type of work.

ஒரு செயலை துவங்கும் முன் அச்செயலில் அனுபவமுள்ளோரின் கருத்தை கேட்டறிந்து ஆராய்ந்து அச்செயலில் இறங்கவேண்டும்.

வினையான் வினையாக்கிக் கோடல் நனைகவுள்
யானையால் யானையாத் தற்று
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
ஒருச் செயலை செய்யும்கால், அச்செயல் சார்ந்த மற்றொரு செயலையும் ஆரம்பித்து செயலாற்றி முடித்துக் கொள்வது, பிளிரும் யானையை அடக்க மற்றொரு யானையை பயன்படுத்துவது போலாகும்.

During doing a work, beginning another one relevant work simaltaneously to finish both, it's equallent to using an elephant to control another one rude  elephant.

நட்டார்க்கு நல்ல செயலின் விரைந்ததே
ஒட்டாரை ஒட்டிக் கொளல்
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
ஒரு செயலின் பொழுது, அச்செயலின் நன்மைக்காக, நட்புக்கு உதவி செய்து நலம் தேடி கொள்வது நல்லது என்றாலும், பகைவரை நட்புக்கொள்ளவைப்பது விரைவான நன்மையை தரும்.

For the sake of one's doing work, even if he earns betterment of doing help to his friends, making friendship on enemies would cause more betterments.

வலியோரை எளியார் எதிர்க்க துணியும்பொழுது, எளியாரின் மக்கள் அஞ்சும் நிலை ஏற்பட்டால், எளியார் பெரியோரை பணிந்து நிற்பர்.
