அகலா தணுகாது தீக்காய்வார் போல்க
இகல்வேந்தர்ச் சேர்ந்தொழுகு வார்

விளக்கம்:
மக்கள் மன்னரிடம் உள்ள தொடர்பு, விலகாமலும் நெருங்கி போய்விடாமலும்  நெருப்பில் குளிர் காய்வது போலிருக்க வேண்டும்.

அரசரோ அல்லது சபைப் பெரியோர்களோ தங்களுக்குள் ரகசிய விவாதம் செய்யுங்கால், மற்றவர் காது கொடுத்து கேட்க முயற்சிப்பதோ, என்ன விஷயம் என்று வினவுவதோ தவறு.

அரசரிடம் கோரிக்கை வைக்குங்கால் அல்லது ஒரு செய்தி சொல்ல முற்படுங்கால், அரசரின் மனநிலை, நேரம் அறிந்து அரசர் விரும்பும் வகையில் எடுத்துச் சொல்ல வேண்டும்.

If public wants to put a plead or wants convey a message to the king, he has to wait for the time and should know the mentality of the king, and then should convey that as if the king is interested to hear that.

அரசரே விரும்பி கேட்டாலும், பயனுள்ள செய்திகளை சொல்வதில் தவறில்லை, ஆனால் பயனற்ற செய்திகளை கூறுதல் கூடாது.

தெளிந்த அறிவுடையோர், தாங்கள், அரசருக்கு பாத்தியப்பட்டோர் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டு அரசருக்கு விரும்பத்தகாத தீயச் செயல்களை செய்ய மாட்டார்கள்.

அரசருடன் வெகுகாலம் பழகிய நட்பில், அரசுக்கு உதவாத காரியங்களை, அரசருக்கும் கூட தெரியாமல் தன்னிச்சையாக ஒருவர் செயலாற்றுங்கால் அது அவருக்கு கேடு விளைவிக்கும்.
