குறள் 91:
இன்சொலால் ஈரம் அளைஇப் படிறிலவாம்
செம்பொருள் கண்டார்வாய்ச் சொல்
விளக்கம்:
ஞானம் பெற்றவர்களால் பேசப்படும் ஆழ்ந்த கருத்துள்ள வஞ்சகமில்லா வார்த்தைகளே இனிய கருத்துரையாகும்.
Explanation in English:
The words delivered verdictly from ones who are wisdom are considered as sweet and pleasant words.

குறள் 92:
அகன்அமர்ந் தீதலின் நன்றே முகனமர்ந்து
இன்சொலன் ஆகப் பெறின்
விளக்கம்:
முகமலர்ச்சியுடன் கூறும் நல்வார்த்தைகளே அகமலர்ச்சியுடன் தரும் பொருளை காட்டிலும் சிறந்த பரிசு.
Explanation in English:
The words delivered by one pleasantly with smiling face is more valuable gift than a thing given by one enthusiastically.

முகத்தான் அமர்ந்தின்து நோக்கி அகத்தானாம்
இன்சொ லினதே அறம்
விளக்கம்:
அகம் புறம் மகிழ முகம் நோக்கி ஆத்மார்த்தமாக கூறப்படும் வார்த்தைகளே முதல் அறம் ஆகும்.
Explanation in English:
Speaking words pretily in and out fullheartly is the first morality.

துன்புறூஉம் துவ்வாமை இல்லாகும் யார்மாட்டும்
இன்புறூஉம் இன்சொ லவர்க்கு
விளக்கம்:
யாரிடத்திலும் நல்லவற்றை இனிதாக பேசுவர்களுக்கு தீமை எதுவும் வராது.
Explanation in English:
No sadness will reach to ones who deliver good and sweet words always to whomever.

பணிவுடையன் இன்சொலன் ஆதல் ஒருவற்கு
அணியல்ல மற்றுப் பிற
விளக்கம்:
வணக்கத்துடன் இனியவற்றை கூறுவதை விட சிறந்த ஆபரணம் வேறெதுவுமில்லை.
Explanation in English:
No one can be a good ornament to one but sweet words spoken by him with good salutations.

அல்லவை தேய அறம்பெருகும் நல்லவை
நாடி இனிய சொலின்
விளக்கம்:
நல்லவற்றை மட்டும் இனிமையாக பேசினால் தீயவை ஒழிந்து அறம் செழிக்கும்.
Explanation in English:
Speaking only good matters sweetly shall destroy all evils and Morality will grow up.

நயன்ஈன்று நன்றி பயக்கும் பயன்ஈன்று
பண்பின் தலைப்பிரியாச் சொல்
விளக்கம்:
பிறரின் வாழ்க்கைக்கு நன்மைதரும் பண்புமிக்க வார்த்தைகளை கூறுபவர்களின் வாழ்க்கை சிறந்து விளங்கும்.
Explanation in English:
One whose words are causing benefits to others for their moral life will have been having a pleasant life.

சிறுமையுள் நீங்கிய இன்சொல் மறுமையும்
இம்மையும் இன்பம் தரும்
விளக்கம்:
சிறுமைகள் நீங்கின இனிய வார்த்தைகளை பேசுபவர்கள் இப்பிறப்பிலும் மறுபிறப்பிலும்கூட இன்பம் பெறுவார்கள்.
Explanation in English:
Ones who speak only pleasant words by avoiding narrow senses will get great lives in the present and future birth.

இன்சொல் இனிதீன்றல் காண்பான் எவன்கொலோ
வன்சொல் வழங்கு வது
விளக்கம்:
இனிய சொற்கள் இன்பம் தருமென்றறிந்தும் கடும் சொற்களை ஒருவர் ஏன் பேசவேண்டும்?
Explanation in English:
Though one who could realise that only sweet talks cause pleasance for life, why should he need to talk harsh words?

இனிய உளவாக இன்னாத கூறல்
கனிஇருப்பக் காய்கவர்ந் தற்று
விளக்கம்:
இனிய சொற்கள் ஏராளமாய் குவிந்து கிடக்க, கடுஞ்சொற்களை பேசுதல், பழங்கள் நிறைந்திருக்க காய்களை உண்பதுபோல் ஆகும்.
Explanation in English:
Speaking harsh words while being a plenty of sweet words is like eating rather unrip fruits than fruits cumulated a lot.
