விரும்புபவராலேயே விரும்பப்பட்டு பெரும்பேறு பெற்ற காதலர், விதையிலா கனியை பெற்ற பெருமையும் பெறுகிறார்.

விளக்கம்:
ஊற்று நீர் இறைக்க இறைக்க தானே மேலும் ஊறும். அது போல, எம் காதலை மறைக்க மறைக்க தான் அது மிகுதியாகிறது.

குறள் 1131:
காமம் உழந்து வருந்தினார்க் கேம
மடலல்ல தில்லை வலி
- தெய்வப்புலவர்

விளக்கம்:
காதலின் மிகுதியால், காதல் கைகூடாமல் போய் வருந்துபவர் துறவிபோல் சாம்பல் பூசித் திரிந்து தன் துயரத்தை போக்குவதைவிட  வலிமையானச் செயல் வேறெதுவுமில்லை.

Because of mad passion on love, there is no any other strong protest against opposers of love like the lover does the protest by applying ash on whole body and roaming here and there.

நோனா உடம்பும் உயிரும் மடலேறும்
நாணினை நீக்கி நிறுத்து

விளக்கம்:
காதலின் பிரிவின் துயரத்தை தாங்கிக்கொள்ள முடியாத இந்த உடலும் உயிரும் மடலேறும் நிலை அடைய துணிகின்றன.
(குறிப்பு: மடலேறுதல் என்பது, காதலி தன்னை விரும்பியும்கூட, ஏதோ காரணத்தால் அவளை அடையமுடியாத சூழ்நிலையில், காதலன் பித்து பிடித்தவன் போல் உடலில் சாம்பலைப் பூசிக்கொண்டு கிரீடம் போல் பனை ஓலைகளை குதிரைகளின் தலையில் கட்டி அக்குதிரையில் அமர்ந்து அங்கும் இங்கும் சுற்றி வருவது. இது ஒரு விதமான எதிர்ப்பு. தன்னை வருத்தி கொள்வது)

Because of not able to realise the grief of the separation of love, this body and soul dare to reach the level of maladaptation.
(Note: MADALERUTHAL means, when a girl loves a man, but for some reason, the man is unable to reach her so he wraps his body in ashes like a mad and wraps palm leaves around the head of horse. He rides the horse around here and there. This is a kind of condemn activity. Self punishing act.)

அன்று வெட்க்கமும் ஆண்மையும் உள்ள நல்ல ஆண்மகனாக இருந்தேன். இன்றோ காமப்பிடியில் அகப்பட்டு பட்டுணர்ந்து மடலேறும் நிலையை உணர்கிறேன்.

வளையல்கள் அணிந்த இந்த இளம் குமரி, காதல் எனும் நோயை பரிசாக தந்ததோடு மடல் ஏறும் நிலையையும் உருவாக்கி விட்டாள்.

இந்த அழகுப்பெண்ணின் காதலினால் தூக்கம் பறிபோய்விட்டது. மடலேறும் நினைவே அடிக்கடி வருகிறது.

காதல் நோய் அவளை வருத்தியும் கூட மடலேறும் முடிவை அவள் மேற்கொள்ளாததிலிருந்தே தெரிகிறது பெண்மை உறுதியானது பெருமைக்குரியது என்று!
