பொருளல்ல வற்றைப் பொருளென் றுணரும்
மருளானாம் மாணாப் பிறப்பு

விளக்கம்:
பொய்மையை உண்மை என்று உணர்வோர் மற்றும் பிறர்க்கும் அதை உணர்த்துவோரின் பிறப்புநிலை இழிவானதாகும்.

மெய்பொருளின் சார்பு என்னவென்று அறிந்து அதனை பின்பற்றி பற்றின்றி வாழ்ந்தால் துன்பங்கள் வாழ்வில் அணுகாது.

யாதனின் யாதனின் நீங்கியான் நோதல்
அதனின் அதனின் அலன்

விளக்கம்:
ஒருவர் ஒன்றின் மீதுள்ள பற்றை துறந்துவிட்டால், அதன்மூலம் ஏற்படும் துன்பத்தை அடையமாட்டார்.

வேண்டினுண் டாகத் துறக்க துறந்தபின்
ஈண்டியற் பால பல

ஐம்புலன்களையும் அடக்கியாளும் வித்தையை அறிந்து கொள்ளும்பட்சத்தில் அவை விரும்பும் அனைத்தையும் துறந்துவிடலாம்.

If one knows to control all five senses, he can quit the desires caused by those five senses.

மயலாகும் மற்றும் பெயர்த்து

தவ நிலையின் இயல்பு எதுவென்றால் யாதொரு உடைமை மீதும் பற்றில்லாமல் இருத்தலே. உடைமைபால் மதிமயங்கி பற்று கொண்டால் துறவு பெறமுடியாது.

The base of penance is that to quit the desire put on anything. If one affectionates lovingly on anything, Hardly to get the stance of asceticsm.

பிறவியின் துன்பம் வேண்டாம் என நினைப்போருக்கு அவர் தன்  உடம்பே மிகையாக இருக்கும்பொழுது பிற ஆசைகளுக்கு இடமே இல்லை.

The entire body alone is a gift to ones those who don't want the miseries of births. Being so, other desires are unnecessary.

யானென தென்னுஞ் செருக்கறுப்பான் வானோர்க்

போக்கும் அருவிளிந் தற்று

பெருஞ்செல்வம் இருப்பது நாடகத்தின் பொழுது கூட்டம் குழுமி இருப்பதுபோல். நிலையானதல்ல. நாடகம் முடிந்து கூட்டம் கலைந்து செல்வதுபோல் அச்செல்வமும் விலகிப் போகும்.

நாளென ஒன்றுபோற் காட்டி உயிரீரும்
வாள துணர்வார்ப் பெறின்

உயிரும் நிலையற்றதே. நாள் அல்லது காலம் என்பது, உயிர் உடம்பிலிருப்பதை குறித்து வைத்துக்கொள்ளும் ஒரு வாள் என்பதை சான்றோர் அறிவர்.

Live is instable. Day or time is like a sword that counts the days of staying time of live in body.

விளக்கம்:
துன்பம் செய்தால் அளப்பறிய பணம் கிடைக்கும் சூழ்நிலை ஏற்பட்டாலும், மாசற்ற நன்மக்கள் பிறர்க்கு துன்பம் தர எண்ணமாட்டார்கள்.

While one who is getting suffering when he is getting evil, if he wants to do misery to others is not justice.

பிறர்க்கின்னா முற்பகல் செய்யின் தமக்கின்னா
பிற்பகல் தாமே வரும்

செல்லிடத்துக் காப்பான் சினங்காப்பான் அல்லிடத்துக்
காக்கினென் காவாக்கா லென்

விளக்கம்:
தன் கோபம் பலித்துவிடும் என்கிற சூழ்நிலையில் அஞ்சி சினம் கொள்ளாதவனே புத்திசாலி. மற்ற இடங்களில் கோபம் கொண்டாலும் கொள்ளாவிட்டாலும் அது ஒரு பொருட்டாகாது.

Explanation in English:
If one controls himself by knowing that his anger would effect badly because of the situation, he is intelligent. Other types of anger is not considered as a matter.

இல்லதனின் தீய பிற

வலியோரிடத்தில் சினங்கொண்டால் தீமைதான் விளையும் அதுபோல எளியோரிடம் சினம் காட்டுதல் அறத்திற்கு புறம்பானது.

Explanation in English:
Angering on strong persons would cause to one numberless evils. Likewise angering on weak persons is against the Morality.

மறத்தல் வெகுளியை யார்மாட்டுந் தீய
பிறத்தல் அதனான் வரும்

எவரிடத்திலும் சினம் கொள்வதை மறப்பது நலம். இல்லேல் அந்த சினத்தாலேயே தீமைகள் வரும்.

Explanation in English:
It's better to forget angering on anyone from the root. Otherwise it would bring an infinite evils.

நகையும் உவகையுங் கொல்லுஞ் சினத்தின்
பகையும் உளவோ பிற

சிரிப்பையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் தரும் கோபத்தை விட ஒருவனுக்கு  பகை வேறொன்றுமில்லை.

No one is as a big enemy to one as an anger is, even if it may cause happiness and laugh.

தன்னைத்தான் காக்கின் சினங்காக்க காவாக்கால்
தன்னையே கொல்லுஞ் சினம்

தன் சினமே ஒருவனை அழித்துவிடுமாகையால், தன்னை காபந்து செய்துகொள்ள வேண்டுமாயின் சினம்கொள்ளாமல் இருப்பது நலம்.

If one wants to protect himself, he ought not to getting anger on anyone because it would surely destroy him.

சினமென்னுஞ் சேர்ந்தாரைக் கொல்லி இனமென்னும்

சினம் தன்னை மட்டுமின்றி, தன்னை காத்து நிற்கும் சுற்றத்தையும் அழித்துவிடும்.

Anger would destroy not only oneself but also all who are protecting him.

நிலத்தறைந்தான் கைபிழையா தற்று

கைகளால் நிலத்தை அறைந்தால் கைகளுக்கு தான் கேடு அதுபோல சினம்தான் தன்னை காக்கும் கைப்பொருள் என்று நினைப்பனுக்கு கேடு தான் வரும்.

The act of slamming the land by hands would cause pain only to hands. Likewise if one thinks that his anger is a safeguard for him, he would surely meet evils.

இணரெரி தோய்வன்ன இன்னா செயினும்
புணரின் வெகுளாமை நன்று

சுடும் நெருப்பைக் காட்டிலும் மோசமான துன்பத்தை தந்தவனாகினும் நாடி வருங்கால், பகையை நினைத்து சினம் கொள்ளுதல் கூடாது.

If one nears to one to make friendliness eventhough he had done infinite evils that are worst than burning fire, one should not get anger on him by thinking past events.

உள்ளத்திலிருந்து சினம் எனும் குணத்தை அகற்றிவிட்டால், அனைத்து இன்பமும் அவனிடம் வந்துசேரும்.

If one removes the root of anger from his heart, all wealth would cummulate to him.

முதலில், நம் தாய்மொழியை நாம் சரியாக பேசகிறோமா என்பதை பார்ப்போம்... 

பல நாடுகளில் தமிழ் முக்கியமான மொழியாக பேசப்படுகிறது. 

நம்மை விட அழகாக தமிழ் பேசுபவர்கள் இலங்கை தமிழர்கள்.

எழுத்தளவில், பெரிய மாற்றங்கள் ஏதும் பெரிதாக இல்லை, ஆனால் சொல்வடிவம், சொல்வளம் உச்சரிப்புகள் இனிமையாக இருக்கும். (வெளிநாடுகளில் நான் கண்ட அனுபவம் இது) 

மொரிஷியஸ் தமிழர்கள் நம்மைக்காட்டிலும் பிரமாதமாக பேசுகிறார்கள். 

நாம் ஆங்கில வார்த்தைகளை தமிழினூடே பயன்படுத்துவதைபோல் அவர்கள் FRENCH வார்த்தைகளை பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள், எப்படி சிங்கையில் 'லா... லா' போட்டு பேசுகிறார்களோ அதைப்போல. 

இலங்கை தமிழர்களின்  தமிழில் ஆங்கில கலப்பு அதிகம் இருக்காது அவ்வப்பொழுது சிங்கள வார்த்தைகள் தென்படும். 

மலேஸிய தமிழ்,  இலங்கை மற்றும் சென்னை சாயலில் இருக்கும். 

மேற்கத்திய நாடுகளில் வாழும் தமிழர்கள் (பெரிய பதவிகளில் வகிப்போர்கூட),  ஒருவரையொருவோர்  சந்திக்கும்பொழுது தமிழில் மட்டுமே உரையாடுகிறார்கள் (அப்பாடா பாலைவனத்தில் ஒரு நீரூற்று என்பதை போல்).

தென் அமெரிக்க கண்டத்தில் ஆங்கில மொழிக்கு வேலை இல்லை, ஆனால் பாருங்கள், CHILE நாட்டின் சில பகுதிகளில் வாழும் மக்கள் பேசும் ஒரு  மொழியில் நிறைய தமிழ் சொற்கள் காணப்படுவதாக ஒரு புத்தகத்தில் படித்தேன். 

ஆக, எங்கும் தமிழ், எதிலும் தமிழ் என்பதெல்லாம் உண்மைதான், தமிழர்களாகிய நாம் தான்,  தமிழை கீறலாக்குகிறோம். 

ஹிந்தி இங்கு வந்து தமிழை அழித்துவிடாது, நாம் தமிழை அழிக்காமல் இருந்தால் போதும்.

ஆங்கில மொழி சம்பந்தமாக

என்னிடம் பலர் பல இடங்களில் கேட்ட சந்தேகங்களுக்கு, ஒரு கட்டுரை போல் அமைத்து பகுதிவாரியாக சில விளக்கங்களை  தந்துள்ளேன்... நியாயமான சந்தேகங்கள் அவைகள். அவை என்னவென்றுதான் பாருங்களேன்..!

பகுதி 1

ஆங்கிலம் பேச அடிப்படை தகுதி என்ன? என்னிடம் ஒருவர் கேட்டார்.

முகநூலில் எழுதுகிறேன் படித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொன்னேன். இங்கும் அதை எழுதியுள்ளேன்.

அப்படி ஒரு கேள்வியை நீங்களும் வைத்திருந்தால் இதை படிக்கவும்.

யாதொரு தகுதியும் தேவையில்லை. ஆனால் முதலில் உங்கள் மொழியிலேயே ஒரு கருத்தை நன்றாக பேச தெரிந்திருக்க வேண்டும்.

அடுத்தவரை பொருட்படுத்தக்கூடாது. உதாரணத்திற்கு ஒரு பத்து பேர் முன்னிலையில் நீங்கள் எழுந்து நின்று ஒரு அரை மணி நேரம் ஒரு தலைப்பை பற்றி உங்கள் தாய் மொழியிலேயே பேசக் கூடிய ஆற்றல் இருக்க வேண்டும். 

சிலருக்கு அல்ல, பலருக்கும் ஒரு வித நாணம் அல்லது கூச்சம் ஏற்படும். அதனால் உங்களுக்கு உங்கள் மொழி தெரியவில்லை என்றா அர்த்தம்? 

அழகாய் தெரியும்... ஆனால் அந்த இடத்தில் ஒரு பதற்றம் அவ்வளவே!

தாய் மொழியிலேயே இப்படி சற்றொரு தடை ஏற்படும்போது ஆங்கிலம் பேசும் பொழுது ஏற்படாதா என்ன?

ஆக, சற்றும் அச்சம் இருக்கக் கூடாது - என்பதே முதல் தகுதி!

உங்களிடம் ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஒருவர் பேசும்பொழுது உங்கள் கருத்தை சற்றும் பயப்படாமல் ஆங்கிலத்திலேயே (தவறாக இருந்தாலும் பரவாயில்லை, என்ன வந்து விடப்போகிறது... என்ற தைரியத்துடன்) பேச வேண்டும். 

ஆங்கிலம் உங்கள் தாய் மொழி இல்லை, ஆதலால் தவறாகிவிடுமோ என்ற அச்சம் தேவையற்றது. 

தவறேதுமின்றி சரளமாக ஆங்கிலம் பேசுபவர்கள் ஒரே நாளில் அப்படி உருவாகிவிடவில்லை. நீங்கள் செய்யும் தவறுகளை விட பெருந்தவறுகளை செய்திருப்பார்கள் என்பதை மனதில் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

வாகனம் ஓட்ட ஒரே நாளில் நாம் கற்று கொள்ளவில்லை. பல நாளைய பயிற்சி அது. 

அது போல தான் ஆங்கிலத்தில் பேசும் திறமையும்.

"சித்திரமும் கைப்பழக்கம் செந்தமிழும் நா பழக்கம்" - கேள்வி பட்டதில்லை நீங்கள்?

"Practice makes one be perfect" என்பதின் தமிழாக்கம் தான் அது!

வார்த்தைகள் பற்றாக்குறை இலக்கண அறிவின்மை - என்பதல்லாம் சரியான காரணமில்லை. 

தாய் மொழியான தமிழில் உள்ள மொத்த வார்த்தைகளில் ஒரு பத்து சதவிகித வார்த்தைகளை தான் தமிழில் பேசும் பொழுது நாம் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம். குறிப்பிட்ட வார்த்தைகளே மீண்டும் மீண்டும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. 

அதே கதை தான் ஆங்கிலத்திலும்.ஒரு 250, 300 வார்த்தைகளை தான் பயன்படுத்தப் போகிறீர்கள் ஆனால் ஒரு ஆங்கில அகராதியில் ஒரு லட்சத்திற்கும் அதிகமான வார்த்தைகள் இருக்கலாம். அனைத்தும் உங்களுக்கு தேவையன்று. அனைத்து வார்த்தைகளையும் அறிந்தோர் யாருமில்லை! 

இலக்கணம் தெரிந்தால் தான் ஆங்கிலம் பேச முடியும் என்று இல்லை. இலக்கணத்தை படிக்காமலேயே அது உங்களுக்கு தெரிந்துவிடும், ஆமாம்...  அதாவது நீங்கள் ஆங்கிலம் என்ற சூழ்நிலையில் பழகிக் கொண்டே இருந்தால்!

ஆங்கில நாளிதழ்களை வாசித்தல், ஆங்கிலம் நன்கு பேசுபவர்களை கவனித்துக் கொண்டிருத்தல், அவர்களுடன் ஆங்கிலத்தில் (பயிற்சிக்காகவாவது) உரையாற்றிக் கொண்டிருத்தல், தமிழ் திரைப்படங்களை ஆங்கில சப் டைட்டிலுடன் காணுதல் போன்றவையையே ஆங்கிலச் சூழ்நிலை என்று இங்கு நான் குறிப்பிடுகிறேன். 

இம்மாதிரியான பயிற்சிகளை மேற்கொள்வதின் மூலமே நீங்கள் ஆங்கிலத்தில் சரளமாக உரையாற்ற முடியும். 

உங்களுக்கு ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஓரளவு பேச எழுத தெரிந்திருந்தால் தான் இலக்கணத்தை முழுமையாக தெரிந்து கொள்ள ஆர்வம் வரும்.

அம்பு (கணை) நேரானதாக இருந்து கொடிய செயல் செய்யக்கூடியதாலும். யாழ் வளைந்திருந்து இனிய ஓசை தரக்கூடியதாலும், உருவம் என்பது வினைபடும் தன்மையை பொறுத்தது.

உலகம் பழிக்கும் இழி செயல்களை முற்றிலும் துறந்தாலே போதும். முடி வளர்த்தல், முடி மழித்தல் போன்ற வேடங்கள் தேவையில்லை.

The status of sages is that quitting all indisciplinary activities that are against justice. It doesn't mean the act of growing a long hair or removing hair completely.

ஆங்கிலம் பேசுவது எளிது. கற்கும், கற்றுதரும் வித்தைகள் சரியாக இருக்கும்பட்சத்தில்.

பிற மொழிகளை விட ஆங்கிலம் எளிதானது. அதை கற்கும் அல்லது கற்பிக்கும் முறையில் உள்ள பிழையே அம்மொழி கடினமானது போல் தோன்றுகிறது.

ஒருவர் ஆங்கிலம் பேசுவதை கவனித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாலே, அம்மொழியை பேசும் திறன் வர ஆரம்பித்துவிடும். அதனால்தான் நான் தரும் பயிற்சியில் LISTENING SKILL - க்கு முக்கியத்துவம் தருகிறேன்.

தினந்தோறும் குறைந்தது ஒரு மணி நேரமாவது இப்பயிற்சியை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
முதல் ஒருவாரம் வந்து அமர்ந்து கவனித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கவேண்டியதுதான். அவ்வப்பொழுது நான் கேட்கும் (உங்களைப் பற்றிய) சிறுசிறு வினாக்களுக்கு ஒரு வார்த்தையில் ஆங்கிலத்தில் பதில் சொன்னால் போதும்.

தங்களின் அன்றாட நடவடிக்கைகளை சரியோ தவறோ ஆங்கிலத்தில் பேச ஆரம்பிக்கும் தைரியம் உங்களுக்கு தானாக வரும்.

The stance of enjoying all his properties himself without assisting to any one is worse than standing infront of one and begging for help.

குறள் 211:
கைம்மாறு வேண்டா கடப்பாடு மாரிமாட்
டென்னாற்றுங் கொல்லோ உலகு

விளக்கவுரை:
மழை எப்படி எந்த பிரதிபலனும் எதிர்பாராது புவிக்கு நீரை தருகிறதோ அதுபோல ஒருவர் செய்யும் உதவி, கைமாறு எதிர்பார்த்து செய்தல் கூடாது.

Explanation in English:
As if rain provides water to the earth without expecting any compensation, one's help should be so.

உழைக்க இயலதாவர்களுக்கு தன் உழைப்பால் பலன் எதிர்பாராது கொடுத்து உதவும் மாண்பு மிக்கவர்கள் தேவலோகத்தில் கூட காண்பதற்கு அரிதானவர்கள்.

Explanation in English:
Those who help by their hard work and without any gain to ones who are unable to work are great. They are equqllent to God.

ஒத்த தறிவான் உயிர்வாழ்வான் மற்றையான்
செத்தாருள் வைக்கப் படும்

விளக்கவுரை:
உழைக்க இயலாதோர்க்கு கொடுத்து உதவுவர்களே உயிர்வாழ தகுதியுள்ளவர்கள்.மற்றோர் இறந்தோர்க்கு சமம்.

Explanation in English:
Ones who help to who are unable to work and earn due to their inability are eligible to have live, others are equallent to be dead.

நயனுடை யான்கண் படின்

உதவும் மனப்பான்மை உள்ள நல்ல மனிதர்களிடம் செல்வம் குவிவது, மரங்களில் பழங்கள் பழுத்து நிறைந்திருப்பதற்கு ஒப்பாகும்.

The stance of cummulating wealth to aiding persons is as if trees are having ripped fruits a lot.

மருந்தாகித் தப்பா மரத்தற்றால் செல்வம்
பெருந்தகை யான்கண் படின்

நல் மனிதர்களிடம் செல்வம் நிறைந்திருந்து, அனைவருக்கும் பயன்படுமேயானால், மரத்தின் அனைத்து உறுப்புகளும் மருந்தாக பயன்படுவது போலாகும்.

இடனில் பருவத்தும் ஒப்புரவிற் கொல்கார்
கடனறி காட்சி யவர்

உதவி செய்தே வாழ்ந்து பழகிப்போனவர்கள், தங்களால் இயலாத காலத்திலும் கடன் பெற்றாவது உதவி செய்வர்.

Explanation in English:
Richers who are habitually helping to others would be helping by borrowing incase of standing with poverty.

நயனுடையான் நல்கூர்ந்தா னாதல் செயும்நீர
செய்யா தமைகலா வாறு

விளக்கவுரை:
செல்வம் மிகுந்தவர் வறுமையடைந்தால், அவர் வருந்துவது எதற்காக என்றால், பிறருக்கு உதவ முடியாத நிலை ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டதே என்று எண்ணுவதுதான்.

Explanation in English:
If rich men supposed to be loss and meet poverty since they  helped to inabilities, they would be worried out only for the reason that they aren't able to help to others.

ஒப்புரவி னால்வருங் கேடெனின் அஃதொருவன்
விற்றுக்கோள் தக்க துடைத்து

விளக்கவுரை:
நல்லதொரு செல்வந்தன் அடுத்தோர்க்கு அள்ளி கொடுப்பதால் தீமையை சந்திக்கும் நிலை ஏற்பட்டால் தன்னை விற்றாவது அத்தீமையை எதிர்கொள்வான்.

Explanation in English:
If a good rich man meets evils because of his infinite helps to others, he would tackle such evils by mortgaging himself.
